My Meet at Ozone

I woke up bright and early, so excited to go to my meet, Ozone. It was a cold morning that day; we packed our suitcases, and we went to Taco Bell and waited for our friends to arrive. Once they arrived we went to pick up Lexi and her mom. Then we got in our car and drove to Knoxville, Tennessee. On our trip we played mash, did origami, and drew on posted notes.

When we got to Ozone I put my pink, green, black, sparkly leo on and put my hair in a bun. Then, we went into the gym and we waited to start. Every second I got more and more nervous with butterflies flying around in my stomach. When we finished stretching it was time to warm up on our first event… Bars A.K.A. the hardest event in Gymnastics.

When we finished warming up it was time to compete, and I was first. I was a nervous wreck, but I took a breath and went. I could feel the cold air brushing against my face as I flipped on the bar. Next thing know I was done with Bars, and I had gotten a 9.5! Then, we warmed up on Beam. Then it was time to compete. When I did my back handspring on the Beam all I was thinking was sticking  my back handspring. I looked at the scoreboard and it flashed 9.375!

I realized we were halfway through the meet. Floor was next, and I got a  ready to compete. I was focusing on dancing pretty, staying tight, and jumping up on my tumbling passes. I see my score on the scoreboard, and I had gotten a 9.275!                  Vault was last and it's my worst event. I got a low score on vault which was 8.625, but that only made me want to work even harder.

On the drive home I thought about how much I love gymnastics. Then, I thought about my scores and how happy I was with the high ones, but how I can improve on the lower ones.
